Carlin Trend & Geology
The Carlin Trend in northeast Nevada is one of the most productive gold districts in the world — since its discovery in 1961, over 90 million ounces of gold have been produced, more than any other US mining district. Carlin-type deposits are characterized by sediment-hosted, micron-grade gold in carbonate host rocks.
Extended mining districts: Battle Mountain-Eureka Trend, Walker Lane (silver and gold), Cortez Pipeline. Plus emerging lithium production at Thacker Pass (Lithium Americas) — Nevada is becoming an important US domestic lithium producer for EV batteries.
Mining investment attractiveness: proven geology + mature regulatory + skilled workforce + infrastructure = lowest-risk-jurisdiction bracket worldwide.

- Newmont Corporation (NYSE:NEM)
